We love coloured stones here at Christopher George, the range of colours, shapes, sizes and phenomena is amazing. We have a resident Gemmologist, Kerry Gregory FGA DGA who buys gemstones from all over the world, ensuring that you get the best quality and prices in the meantime, she is great at negotiating prices with dealers! All our staff have a good knowledge of stones and each has their particular favourites, Cerian and Alison are also currently studying for their gemmology diplomas.

We always have loose gems in stock for repairs and commissions and the coloured stone window is a fantastic splash of colour, there will always be some examples displayed loose, for special presents or hand made pieces of jewellery. If there is a specific stone you are looking for we can source it for you, and give you a range to choose from. Stones start from just £5, and hand made jewellery can cost as little as £40, an affordable treat or thoughtful gift.

We can supply stones to replace broken or lost stones in your jewellery, individual stones for creating a piece of jewellery, matched sets and unique stones. In store currently we have stones ranging in size from 0.5mm to about 50cts, a fantastic range of well known stones such as sapphire, rubies, emeralds, tanzanite, opals, topaz, aquamarine, amethyst, citrine, tourmaline as well as pearls. We also have more unusal gemstones that you don’t generally see on the high street such as spinel, chrysoberyl, fancy garnets, sphene, moldavite, hackmanite, paraiba tourmaline, alexandrite and many many more.
